There are several myths that are associated to body building and many individuals have fallen into such traps that have left them with a lot of pain and regrets and others have even given up and do not practice any more. This is why it is recommended for one to be well conversant with any step he or she is taking when it comes to body building programs. Others say that an individual can get big as a professional body builder without taking steroids since it takes a longer period. No matter what other may say or what the magazines may say, all professional body builders use steroids together with other drugs which enhance the muscle growth. It is impossible to get the high degree of muscularity without manipulating the body hormones.

By consuming a diet that is rich in all recommended nutrients and through getting proper amounts of rest, one is able to make incredible changes in his physique that can gain him respect among others. Another myth is that in order to get bigger, one must eat super calorie diet. This is true because when an individual takes in large amount of calories, he or she will grow bigger very fast though for the ones who would like to get bigger as recommended for better health or for the ones who wants to get big lean tissue wise, the high amounts of calories is not the best unless your body can burn these calories instead of depositing them in the body as fats.

According to the health researchers, the higher percentage of muscle growth is attributable to high proliferation of satellite cells and calories is not the main factor when it comes to differentiation of the cells in to new muscle cells. It is advisable for the body builders to keep off from super high calories. Others also believe that when you eat a low fat diet, it does not matter the amount of calories you consume because you cannot gain any fat. This is not right because if one exceeds the normal energy requirements, he or she will keep on growing fatter. This is so because taking in a diet that is full of fats can pack on the pounds very fast since a single gram of fats has almost nine calories not four as carbohydrates and proteins.

Another myth is that the more one works out, the more he or she will grow. This is completely wrong and misleading because most of the people say that they made a mistake though over training. Overtraining is not recommended because when one trains the muscles too often for them to heal, he will be achieving no results and at times he or she can even loose the muscle weight. Exercising every single day without rest will automatically show that you are over training and this is not best when you want better results. It is recommended that you practice and rest so as to facilitate the healing of the muscles which in turn leads to growth.
