Home made products are much better than readymade. Home products have no harmful effects. The best facial mask is honey. Place a cloth in warm water and apply to your face to open the pores. Smear on honey, and leave on for 15 to 30 minutes. Rinse off with warm water, and then use cold water to close the pores.
Another Homemade beauty recipe is simply applying pulp of beetroots and carrots onto the face. For this, cut them into pieces and make a fine paste. Apply onto the face and keep it for about 20 minutes. Rinse the face off after that preferably with lukewarm water. It works as blood purifying agent and hence, offers fair complexion.
Try olive oil as a moisturizer. You can also use it to soothe sunburned skin.

For dark circles under the eyes, dip cotton pads in chilled mixture of cucumber and potato juice. Keep this on your eyelids for 15 to 20 minutes and gently wash it off.
