Ways to Save Money in Wedding Planning

It is understandable that you only want the best for your wedding and this is why you are very meticulous when it comes to wedding planning. Times are hard and you never know what is going to happen with the country’s economy in the future. What has this got to do with your special day? With this thought in mind, you should actually be thinking of ways on how to cut down on your expenses as you go about the planning phase. You are going to start your own family after your wedding and it is only practical to think about those years as you create your plans.

If you already have a checklist of what you want to happen and the things you need to acquire for your wedding, look at it again and see if there are ways on how you can lower the total expenses. Here are some tips that you can think about as you go about this quest.

1. Allot time on focusing on the things that you have to deal with when it comes to the event. If you can go and visit certain places yourself, then do it. If you are thinking of hiring a wedding coordinator, you must first think about their tasks. Yes, things are going to be a lot easier on your part if there is someone who is managing everything for you and your only job is to approve or reject their choices. But if you have time on your hands, you might as well use a little exercise to proceed on these tasks on your own. You can search for the right church, venue, providers of the materials that you will need on the wedding among other things.

This may sound like a lot of hard work, but this is going to be a special event. It will be more memorable if you are going to manage things on your own. By personally attending to your needs, you will have an idea of how else can you save in the process. Your guests do not have to know that you are on a tight budget. As long as you can provide them with good food and good fun, they won’t notice that you did not serve desserts during the event. They will be there for you not for the food or anything else, but to see you finally marry the person whom you want to spend the rest of your life with.

2. Scout for various providers of the different materials and other things that you will need during the event. This can be accomplished online. There are many websites that contain database of different providers of what you are looking for. By browsing at these sites, you will have an idea of how certain packages would cost and you will be able to compare the given prices of the different stores and service providers.

3. Ask your friends who have been into this kind of preparation for tips and advices about how you can save. If you have limited friends who have experienced this kind of event, you can go online and participate on public forums that tackle this subject.

By saving up more money during the wedding planning, you will feel good about what you have accomplished.

Hello this is my first article! I am a writer for Silverland Jewelry & gifts. We are a jewelry store mainly centered around bridal jewelry and wedding jewelry. I’m not endorsing or promoting my business, just wanted to give a little background of myself.

Brides come and brides go. Year in and year out. The year of 2009 was filled with unique wedding stories anywhere from the famous hollywood weddings to a small southern town wedding in NC. The price tag of these wedding may add up to a big difference, but one thing these wedding do have in common is that the bride and her bridesmaids more than likely wore wedding jewelry or bridal jewelry during their wedding.

Wedding Jewelry and bridal jewelry are like icing on a cake. They top off a wedding by adding the finishing touch. Bridal Jewelry can range from  a pair of earrings that cost $9.99 to an Akoya pearl necklace that costs $450.00. The most affordable wedding jewelry that offers the highest quality are made from with Swarovski crystals and pearls. This specific crystal wedding jewelry or pearl bridal jewelry have the authentic pearl and crystal look to them, which makes them the most popular kind.

Bridesmaid jewelry is best bought in sets. What a wonderful appearance your bridesmaids would present if wearing matching necklaces, bracelets, and earrings! Tin Cup necklaces are very popular no matter what time of year you are getting married. A tin cup necklace is a chain with pearls spaced out evenly along the chain which produces a floating pearl appearance. They are beautiful!

Of course the bride’s jewelry should outdo her bridesmaid’s jewelry. A beautiful double strand of pearls, freshwater or cultured, would compliment any bride. Always remember that the brides’s wedding dress will be an influence on what type of jewelry she can wear. Not all types of jewelry will wear beautifully with all necklines.

These are just a few tips in helping brides choose what kind of bridal jewelry and wedding jewelry to have for their bridal party. Keep in touch for many more articles on weddings, jewelry, and fashion from Silverland Jewelry!

Hotels have become a hub of many wedding preparations

Indian wedding is a grand affair. It is celebrated with great pomp and show. As celebration is incomplete without people thus many people who include relatives and friends are invited in wedding. Their togetherness makes wedding a happy event. They also lend a great helping hand in the completion of many wedding rituals. Furthermore the laughter, the gossip and the merry making that goes around in a wedding house has its own special charm and makes entire environment lively.

But for so many people living preparation should be done according to that only. It is a very important task of wedding preparation. Also guests are considered equals to God in India, thus taking care of them becomes all the way more important. Whether it is groom or bride family, at both places arrangements for guests is must to be done at proper basis. But simultaneously making living arrangements for all guests at home is not possible according to present scenarios. There is not much space at homes at these times. Especially if it is city wedding then this task becomes more difficult because there is no space for all relatives to accommodate. In villages at one time it is possible because people there are like families and adjusts guests in their homes but in cities this does not happen.

Renting hotels for few days is best option. Many hotels are especially meant for wedding purposes only. Even nowadays some people do all rituals also in hotels because of lack of space at home. It is a very common practice presently. Not only in big cities but in small cities and even in villages also this practice is followed. Wedding planner family members book hotels and make arrangements of guests there. Food drinks, snacks etc. everything is served to them and this all responsibility is taken by hotel staff. event planner

Also idea of booking hotels is good from viewpoint if wedding is taking place in some exotic place. At such times all wedding preparations are held at hotels only, ranging from small to big ones. The same is applicable in an inter-city marriage where the bride and groom are the natives of different cities.

Arranging at hotels resolves many wedding preparation problems as half of work is done by hotel people. Wedding is for enjoying not for taking tension till it gets over.

Wedding Tools: Your Guide to Planning

Every couple wants a perfect wedding – a once in a lifetime dream come true. Before that happens though, the reality reminds us that preparation is usually the most stressful for not only the bride and the groom but also the entire family. That is why for every couple who plans to wed, there’s one essential concept they should know—wedding tools.

Wedding tools is a mechanism that alleviates stress, an inevitable part of the planning. It may come in various ways depending on the kind of wedding one wants to have. This may include wedding checklist, gowns, groom’s needs, invitation, photography, and honeymoon.

Fundamental for any planning is the checklist. A wedding checklist is like note taking of important details. It is very useful for organization and reminder.

The wedding checklist consists of specific items, date, time, and place. It ranges from all the needed materials—like decorations, party rentals, food, etc—to events to be organized, music to be played, and so on. The checklist makes sure you will accomplish every little detail of the wedding. Apparently, this is not a once-seating feat. The list will surely lengthen as you go.

The next tool is the gown. This is the most fantasized about in the entire event. For most women, choosing their gowns is as much vital as the wedding itself.

Indeed, it is necessary for the gown to match the over-all tone of the wedding but this should not restrict the bride in fusing her own creativity and style. A heavy-beaded gown go with a formal cathedral wedding for example. On the other hand, a length-train gown does not fit a beach setting.

The needs of the groom are also part of the excitement. Aside from the suit he will be wearing are the roles and expectations he should take during the wedding planning. For some ceremonies, grooms write their speeches or a personalized “I do.” Sometimes, since the women mostly do the preparations on the rest of the wedding, the men plan the honeymoon.

The wedding can only be as fun as one can imagine because of the witnesses. Vital therefore is the creation of guest list. It serves two purposes—making sure significant people in your lives are present while at the same time keeping your budget. Space of the place is also a consideration in doing the wedding guest list. Be sure the people invited fit the space.

Because photos immortalize moments, this is another important consideration in the planning. The photographer, color film—black and white vis a vis color—tips about preserving photos and saving money are just some of the essential matters to be taken into account.

Lastly, a honeymoon right after the wedding is planned way ahead.  Honeymoons are part of the traditional wedding which has been modified as time passed by. Before, honeymoons were kept secret from the bride.

Preparations might be a real pain but when the wedding runs the way you wished it would be, it is going to be a priceless satisfaction.

Buying a Discount Plus Size Wedding Gown

December 30, 2009 by admin

The average woman in America is a plus size woman; that’s a fact. Therefore, it should be easy to buy a plus size wedding gown, right?

Actually it’s not as easy as it seems in some ways. Most wedding dress designers don’t concentrate on plus sizes, instead designing their wedding dresses for women who can highlight all the intricate details of a wedding dress.

At least that’s their perception. Truth be told, the average woman can make wedding dresses look more spectacular than a dress worn by a model. Most women find it easier to see a wedding dress on someone who looks more like them than a super thin model. In any case, the lucky thing is that there are a lot of wedding gowns for plus size women, and at discount prices.

If you’re a plus size woman, the first thing you need to do before looking for your wedding dress is to embrace your size for what it is. If you’re a size 16, that’s what you are; don’t be ashamed of it. There’s a discount wedding gown for you, probably many, and you’ll look spectacular in one.

Next, be practical when you’re ready to buy your wedding gown. This isn’t about price now, but about reality. If you’re a size 16, look for a size 18 dress instead of a 16. Not all wedding dresses that say they’re a certain size might be because designers do different things with wedding dresses, just like they tend to do with regular clothes. It’s easier for someone to alter a dress that might end up being a bit too big rather than trying to alter a dress that’s a bit too small.

Finally, do your search online. It’s a lot easier to go through a lot of wedding gowns online than going around town looking for one in places like consignment shops and thrift stores. Not only that, but sometimes you’ll find some really deep discounts that will save you a lot of money, which you can then spend on other things. Also, you will find that shopping at discount wedding gown sites will provide you more of an opportunity to find a designer wedding gown that was made specifically for a plus size woman. Take pride in who you are, then go and find the discount plus size wedding gown for you.

Locate the finest in discounted designer wedding gowns, including plus size wedding gowns and cheap Vera Wang wedding gowns from the leader in online bridal dresses, BridePower.com.

5 Tips to Having A Wedding At Home

December 30, 2009 by admin

With the cost of weddings going higher these days, many people are looking for alternative places to have their weddings. For years, the wealthy have often had weddings in their homes, and there’s no reason everyone couldn’t consider it as a viable option for their wedding also. If you’d like to consider going this route, here are 5 tips to doing it right.

1. Plan the number of people you’re inviting to the space you have. Unless you’re going to have it in your backyard and it’s spacious, most people don’t have the space in their house for more than 30 people at a time to keep it comfortable. Even 30 might be pushing it, but you know your comfort level.

2. Call people to personally invite them rather than sending out cards. This is more for your benefit than theirs. Strange as it might seem, it’s easier to plan for 100 people and have 120 shows up than it is to plan for 30 and have 40 people show up. Make your list, try to prioritize it, and then start making your calls. When you get to your limit, end it there and send out wedding notices to everyone else instead of invites.

3. Spend more money on food than on decorations. It’s probable that most of the people you’re inviting have already seen what your house looks like, so cleaning it up a bit is probably all you really need to do. Where parties fail is in not having enough food and drinks for everybody, so make sure you’re not going to run out.

4. Don’t forget to tell people how to dress. If you don’t care, then it’s all good. However, if you’re looking for any kind of decorum at your wedding, you need to let people know. Most people think anything held at someone’s house is totally casual, and that might not be the setting you were hoping for at your wedding.

5. Since it’s at your house, you don’t have to start off with the wedding ceremony. This isn’t like going to a church, going through the ceremony, and then heading to the reception hall. Often these types of events will be a party for a couple of hours, then the justice of the peace will show up, the couple will have the official ceremony, and it’s back to the party. Of course, there are no rules regarding this, so feel free to modify it however you wish.

The Best and Worst Wedding Songs Are the Same

December 30, 2009 by admin

I know I’m not the only one who cringes whenever I’m at a wedding and the Chicken Dance comes on. It’s one of the corniest wedding songs in history if you ask me. At the same time, however, it’s one of the favorite dance songs at weddings also. When people first hear that accordion, they’ll cheer, jump up, and get on the dance floor so they can flap their arms and do all sorts of strange stuff.

As much as many of us want to cringe and find a way to sneak out of the room, just as many people can’t wait to get out on the dance floor and strut their stuff. People love group dances; it’s been proven over and over. Give someone a song where they already know the moves and don’t have to be good dancers and they’re ready to go.

The problem for some of us is that there are very few cool songs which people can dance to in groups. So we have to suffer while other people are having all the fun. And what songs are there besides the Chicken Dance?

Probably the newest song out there is the Macarena. Most people have no idea what the lyrics are to the song, but they don’t care. At least this song has a beat, but if you ever saw the video, you know these were two guys who never had any inkling that their little ditty would turn out to be such a big hit this many years later.

Of course, there’s the Hokey Pokey, a little song that no one even agrees on where it came from. It’s the strangest thing seeing people putting in left or right body parts then shaking their bodies around in a funny little shimmy.

Another relatively new song in this genre is the Electric Slide. The music is definitely weak and irritating, but it has one of the better dance moves of all the songs. A song called the Cha Cha Song also has some pretty cool dance moves, but the music is less than enthusiastic.

It doesn’t matter what I like or don’t like. If you like it go ahead, have it at your wedding, dance to it, and enjoy it. I’ll use that time to get more cake.

When looking for your wedding dress, locate discount wedding gowns, including cheap designer wedding dresses and cheap plus sized wedding dresses, visit the leader in wedding apparel, BridePower.com.

The Significance Of Wedding Photography In Wedding Planning

December 30, 2009 by admin

Indeed, weddings are definitely one of the happiest moments in a person’s life. But, this momentous occasion does not always come as blissful as the event itself. Days and even months before the big day, couples usually cram up with the littlest details. The wedding planning process includes listing down and cutting down everything into specific details such as the wedding date, the venue, the reception, the caterer, the designer of the gown and suit, all the way down to the wedding coverage.

Because to hectic schedules, most couples usually do not pay much attention to one of the crucial things in any wedding: the wedding coverage. Despite the overwhelming tension and excitement, couples do not have to be nonchalant when choosing their wedding photographers if they want their fun times and precious memories recorded very well.

Choosing your wedding photographer

To avoid making this slight neglect that usually leads disastrous results, couples have to decide first what kind of wedding photography they would want to have. Most wedding photographers today categorize the types of wedding photography into two—the traditional or classic style and the wedding photojournalistic style.

Today, the most common style used by wedding photographers is the traditional or classic wedding photography is considered as a “timeless” and the “safest” style because you normally see in countless wedding albums. Characterized by classic poses of subjects aware of the camera, this style involves so much control from the photographer because he is in-charge in arranging individual and group shots before, during, and even after the wedding.

Here, the photographer must have excellent portraiture skills to focus more on the quality of the photograph by making the subject look great from the littlest details. Expect typical wedding photos like pre-ceremony pictures, formal shots of the bride and groom posing with bride’s maids and ushers, cake cutting, garter and bouquet toss, and the like when you choose a classic wedding photography. This style is ideal if the couple would want to keep portraits of family members for their wedding album.

If the couple is adventurous and unconventional, then you might want to consider the wedding photojournalistic style of photography on your big day. An increasingly popular style today, wedding photojournalism offers fresh and new style of taking photos in the occasion. Characterized by candid shots of the subjects unaware of the moving camera, the photojournalism style lets the attendees act freely to capture their pure and true emotion.

Sourcing style from his experience in journalism, the “photojournalist” pays more attention to minute details and candid shots rather than arranged ones. He’s more into eyeing interesting moments and capturing those in his lens to produce a narrative collection of images that tell a story. Although some traditional poses will be present, expect photos that show actual emotions of the bride and groom and of other participants throughout the duration of the wedding when you choose the photojournalism style.

While wedding planning, make sure that you meet up with your photographer first to avoid ruining the documentation of that big event. Make sure that that early on, the wedding photographer meets all of your standards. When you meet with the photographer before hand the so you could discuss the details you want.
